The Edwardian period extended from the death of Queen Victoria in 1901 to (loosly) the beginning of World War 1 in 1914.
This was a time of quite restrained plaster styles. The small size and lack of detail force many home owners looking for a more interesting style to borrow from either the Victorians or the Art Deco era. Some even use contemporary designs which with their plain lines can fit in rather well.
