Classical Cornices
Here we revisit the gradeur of ancient Greece and Rome.
Cornices CN1040, CN1046 and CN1047 were used in Victorian and Italianate houses where the fashion was to borrow heavily from classical design.
Cornices CN1044 and CN1045 are large cornices with several classical elements, the acanthus leaf, reels etc. These cornices would usually be used above 3 metres.
CN61 and CN405 feature the cyma recta curve. This wave like form originated in ancient Greece where it was believed to be one of the "most perfect forms". Today it imparts a simple elegance where ever it is used. CN68 is a new cornice. This cornice is suitable for ceiling heights above 3 metres. It contains several classical elements and would usually be used in homes of the Victorian era.
