After World War II ended in 1945 there was a shortage of building materials for a number of years. The cornices
of this era tended to be smaller and less elaborate than those of earlier periods.
Although cornice CN03 and CN72 originated in an earlier era they were available after World War II and as cornice was in short supply they were used extensively.
These pairs of cornices can be used with each other, the smaller cornice in less important rooms and the larger in the larger more formal rooms.
