Plaster Corbels
Corbels create a great feature as they are usually positioned at a lower level than most other plaster features.
They can be used fixed alone to a wall, resembling a small shelf, at the top corners of any wall opening or more usually to support an arch.
Our square arch kits come with corbels but for arch sweeps you will need to choose your own.
Some corbels have a cap built in, others require a separate cap, (see the caps page) to create a flat surface above the corbel.
Many Victorian hall ways featured elaborate corbels supporting an ornamental arch but their use is not limited to period homes.
