Ceiling Panels
In a move to distance design from the Victorians ceiling decoration became square or rectangular rather than the traditional circle.
Then came the Art Deco era a time of radical new designs, style for the sake of style, bold patterns and colours. The world was escaping from the restraints of the Victorian era.
It was normal to have a differnet panel in every room, it wasn't even necessary to match the cornice, contrast was a design feature.
Additional decoration was added with straps either matching straps running up to the panel or contrasting surrounding it.
Art Deco is a style where you can have some fun. "Over the top" is the norm, create a room that makes a "STATEMENT".
